Finally!!

Whew! I tell you, trying to find time to scrap with 5 kids takes some work! But I was finally able to whip one out. I'm hoping to get some more done too, but we'll see when I'll get around to that! Especially since I am fighting off a cold and one of my little guys have gotten it too! Trying to nip it all in the bud though before it gets bad. So here's the LO I did, it's using 3 Bugs in a Rug products and I followed their August/September sketch...gotta love those sketches!

It's been a while!

Whew! What a month it has been over here! I haven't been doing much scrapping lately...having a new baby kind of takes up any extra time you have (LOL! Not that I had a ton anyways!) I'm hoping once everyone gets back on some sort of schedule that I'll be able to do some scrapping again. I know I have a ton of pics to choose from! I did do a couple LO's earlier this month before the baby arrived and I just now got around to getting pictures of them and uploading them here! They are for the 3 Bugs in a Rug June/July contest. Oh and I also got my prize from 3Bugs in a Rug today for winning the May sketch contest! I'm loving all the new goodies they sent me and can't wait to break into them and create! I also finally gave the lady the altered purse and mini album (well actually my mom delivered it for me). I need to go in sometime and negotiate my fee with her...but according to my mom she absolutely loved it and almost started crying. So it looks like I can pretty much get anything I want...could really use a massage about now! LOL! She also showed it around to people in the salon, so who knows....maybe I'll be getting some orders! Though right now I don't know when I would do it! So anyways, it has been a very crazy month...I wonder what next month will entail! :)

Toot Toot!!!

I just recieved my 3 Bugs in a Rug Newsletter for June/July and saw that the layout I did of Jaxon on the slide won their sketch contest!! How cool is that!! Can't wait to get my goodies in the mail! The one thing I love about scrap challenges is that not only do you get a chance to win something it also inspires you to create a LO that you really love...so it's pretty much a win win situation! http://www.threebugsinarug.shoppingcartsplus.com/f/junenewsletter.pdf

Altered Purse and Mini Albums Pics

Here are the rest of the pictures from the altered purse and 2 mini albums I did. The first mini album says Family and the second one says Ties. I painted the chipboard first and than sanded it down a bit, then just added the PP, pics, embellies and quotes and than inked the edges.

I finished!!!

I finally finished up the project I was working on for my very first commission! I think it turned out really well and I'm pretty pleased with it...the pictures don't do it much justice, I think it looks much better in person...but than what doesn't! So after 10 hours of work and about $65 worth is supplies, it is done! Now it's time to barter for what she owes me for doing it, since we decided to just trade services (she does alot of spa treatments, such as massages, pedi's, mani's, facials, etc....). I altered a chipboard purse and then made two chipboard mini books that insert perfectly into the purse. All the patterned paper(PP) is from Basic Grey's "Scarlett Letter" line (which I think fits Bobbie (the lady I did it for) to a tee! Than I used paint, ribbon, sequins, prima flowers, brads, crystals, glitter, ink, and vellum quotes, etc.... to embellish it. Most of the supplies I used (except for the PP) came from walmart, target and JoAnn's. I think she will be really happy with it! If not then I will just take out her pictures and put my own in and keep it for myself! LOL! In fact I might just have to make another one for myself anyways! Here are some pictures of the altered purse, I will post pics of the mini albums a bit later...got to get my little guy down for a nap and he sleeps where the computer is at!

Some more creations

I've been keeping busy trying to get some stuff done before this little guy decides to come. I have just 8 weeks or left and than I'm going to have my hands really full for a while...until we get on some sort of schedule again. Then hopefully I'll be able to scrap again! I'm also keeping busy on getting my scrapbook commision done before he arrives too...about a quarter of a way done with it! I got the idea for the flower pots from Jenn (NewMommyScrapper) over at TSS, she made one about a year ago for mother's day and I finally got around to doing a couple myself. Gave one to my mom and the other to my mother-in-law, and I altered a frame to go along with the one I did for my MIL since I had done the photo cube for my mom. The clipboards I altered for my kids teachers...already gave my daughter's speach teacher hers and she loved it, going to give my the other to my son's teacher this week! Then all the LO's I did for the challenges over on the 3 Bugs In A Rug site!

Getting some stuff done...

Well I finally got the pictures in that I ordered to do my mother's day gift for my mom, so I got to finish that up. I just whipped up a very simple photo cube for her. I don't have alot of embellishments on hand here (since a majority of my things are back in NJ still) so I just had to use what I had...and I love the pictures that I used for this so I didn't want to detract from them anyways. I think it turned out pretty cute and I know my mom is very happy with it, so that's all that really matters! The girls and I also finished up the mother's day present for my mother-in-law. I found this really cute tin bucket at Target in the dollar spot and just added some ribbon to it and a tag. We also found this "grow kit" in the dollar spot for lavendar. So we planted the lavendar in the bucket. Hopefully something will grow...never know when you have your 5 and 3 year old plant it! But it nothing ends up growing than that's okay too, she can always replant or use the tin for something else.

Also got the pictures in that I'm going to use for my "commision". Now I'm just waiting on the supplies that I ordered. I'm hoping that I will get them by next week because I am just dying to start working on it. I have something really cute in mind and I can't wait to see how it turns out! Might have to order some more of those so I can make one for myself!

And I ordered a ton of pictures off of snapfish, so that I will have some photos on hand that I can scrap whenever I get in the mood! That way I won't have to keep waiting on something before I can do anything. So I'm hoping to get a lot of scrapping done this month and next...especially before this little guy decides to make his appearance sometime in July!
Oh and while the layouts that I did for the sketch contest over at 3 Bugs in a Rug didn't win...I did get an honorable mention! So that was pretty cool! Think I'm going to give the sketch for this month a shot too, once I finally get all the pictures I ordered! So I have plenty of scrapping to do...know only if I can find the time!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all you mom's are having a great day! I actually did a little bit of scrapping. Couldn't do too much since I'm waiting on my pictures that I ordered from scrapbookpictures.com, some of my scrapping buddies over at TSS tipped me off to them and I absolutely love the job they do with my pictures! So I spent today just covering the photo cube that I'm making for my mom for Mother's Day...so she'll get it a little late, but she's fine with that!

I also got my very first commision! I have scrapped for other people before (usually when I've made them a gift or what not...) but a couple weeks ago my mom brought me a pack of pictures that a mutual friend of ours gave her. She told my mom that she wanted me to scrap something for her and I could use whatever pictures that I wanted and do whatever I wanted with them! And then we would work out some sort of payment (she has her own business where she does, acrylic nails, manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, etc...) So I will have lots of fun little "spa" treatments to choose from when I give her my finished product! And being 6 1/2 months pregnant, that massage and what not is sounding really good! LOL! So I decided to do a little mini album for her with the pictures that she gave me. I found this cute little chipboard purse that I'm going to alter, since she is really into purses, and it also comes with a mini album that fits inside! So I'm pretty excited about doing this, it should be alot of fun. Just have to wait for all the supplies that I ordered to get here so I can get started on it! I scanned the pics in that she gave me and uploaded them to Scrapbook Pictures and did some fun stuff with the pics and I should hopefully get those and the purse/mini album, patterned paper (I ordered the Scarlett Letter line from BG for this) and all the embellies to go with it sometime this week! I'll have to make sure I take pictures of the finish product so I can remember how it turned out before I give it to her!

Back in the Saddle Again!

Whew! It feels good to be back to scrapping again! The move went pretty smoothly...though most of my goodies are still back in NJ, I did manage to bring a few goodies though so that I could do some scrapping. I got 4 layouts done this weekend and it felt so good to scrap again! I'm going to have to hit the LSS for some more supplies!! I decided to do the April Sketch Challenge over at 3 Bugs in a Rug and I love how they turned out...so even if I don't win the challenge, I still feel like a winner because I created some awesome LO's that I am proud of! I probably won't get around to anymore scrapping this week or this weekend, since I'm getting ready to head out of town and visit with some of DH's family. But hopefully next week I can do some more, I don't think I want to wait a whole month again to scrap again and with this baby coming in July I better get all that I can done while I have a little bit of free time! LOL! Well if you call what I have free time...I still usually have a few kids hanging on me! I'm also loving the nice spring weather we are starting to get...makes for some great outdoor pictures!

Procrastinate

pro·cras·ti·nate
Pronunciation: pr&-'kras-t&-"nAt, prO-
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): -nat·ed; -nat·ing
Etymology: Latin procrastinatus, past participle of procrastinare, from pro- forward + crastinus of tomorrow, from cras tomorrow
transitive verb : to put off intentionally and habitually
intransitive verb : to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done

Yep, procrastinate...that's what I'm doing. I really need to start packing up my scrapbooking supplies, but I just can't seem to get the energy or gumption to do it! Maybe because it feels so final to pack up all my stuff and I don't know when I'm going to see it all again. Or it could be that I've collected so much stuff that I know it's going to take forever to get it packed up! Whatever the case may be I am definitely procratinating! I know I'm going to have to get it done soon though, since I definitely don't want to trust it to DH or movers (when DH gets a job and sells the house and moves to WA to be with us). So I guess that should motivate me to get it done, since you never know what they might do to my stuff, they probably wont be that gentle with it and pack it the way I would like! I know I shouldn't be so bummed about packing my things up. It's not like I'm never going to scrap again and I am going to bring some of my supplies with me so I can work on things over there and they do have scrapbook stores I can go to for anything I might need. I guess while I'm glad we are moving back home to be closer to family, I'm still going to miss my space here. I didn't realize I had gotten so attatched to things here in just the short time we have been here (less than a year). But as this move has gotten closer I've been thinking more and more about the things I am going to miss. But in the end I know we are going to be alot happier back home surrounded by our family and friends...now if only DH can find a job over there I would feel alot better! :)

No more scrapping for me...

Well atleast for a while anyway. I gotta start packing up my stuff this week. Being down with the flu all last week really messed with my plans of getting some last minute scrapping done. I am going to try and pack some scrapping stuff (probably mostly kits and what not) in my cropper hopper and see if I can't take it along with me on the trip, that way I'll have some stuff to work on while we are staying with my parents. And it's not like there aren't scrapping stores back in WA either, in fact I know of one right at the top of my head! Think I'll be hitting that place when we get there! LOL! And of course there is also my favorite way to shop...online!! I asked DH if he could back up the rest of my pictures for me on disc and I was going to take all of those along with me too, that way I can still work on my pictures. Hopefully he'll be able to get that done for me before we leave. This move has really crept up on me. I kept thinking I still had plenty of time to get some things done, but we just got until the end of this month and then we are heading out! I'm really excited about this move, but also dreading it. I'm dreading the whole moving process I guess....I hate all the packing and making sure we have everything that we are going to need. And it's just going to be a long drive home, I just hope everything goes smoothly and we don't have too many unexpected crisis on the way home! Another thing weighing on me is the fact that DH will be coming back here while we stay over there and we still aren't sure how long that is going to be for! I just really hope that he'll be back in WA for good by the time this little guy is born. I'm really going to hate it if he is only able to come back for the birth and then have to go back. So trying to think positive thoughts and pray that a good job offer comes his way and soon! Well guess I better start packing up my stuff now, hopefully it won't be packed up for too long!

Another one makes it in!!

Had another LO make it into the 3 Bugs in a Rug gallery! It was a kit from TSS using the Maverick line! There is just so much you can do with these papers, I love me some 3 Bugs!

On another note...don't know how much more scrapping I'm going to be able to get done before I have to pack everything up! DH wants me to get it all packed by this coming weekend, since we'll be leaving in a few weeks. Wow, the time really did fly! I'm excited about moving back home, but not excited about all the packing and cleaning I have to get done! This weekend was a complete waste for me since I got hit hard with a nasty flu bug and I'm still not back on my feet! I just hope that we are all healthy when we move....it would really stink if we had to drive cross country sick!

Another lil' Toot!!

I know it isn't that big of a deal, but it's always nice to have your work featured! My LO "My Little Angel" is featured in the March newsletter over at TSS (The Scrapbook Site). I had used one of their awesome kits (February Kit #2 Mulberry Rd.) to make it and I love how it turned out...I had a blast working with that kit! I posted it in one of my earlier posts, but I'll post it again so you won't have to search for it! The papers and embellishments in this kit were just perfect for this picture and how I wanted to showcase it! Anyways, thanks for letting me share! Like I said, it's always nice to have your work showcased!

Just a lil' TOOT!!

My "Love" LO made it into the 3 Bugs in a Rug gallery!! I turned this picture into black and white and then just kept his beautiful blue eyes. I love how the blues in the "Spicy" paper line make his eyes pop out even more! Think I'm going to have to pull some more of my 3 Bugs in a Rug paper out and get creating, since they have opened up their gallery to submit to! I have always loved their paper lines, just haven't had much of an oportunity to scrap lately! I'm thinking of packing up some of my goodies to take on the move with me so that I can still do some scrapping and the 3 Bugs in a Rug Caboodle Kits would be great for traveling! I'm also going to bring some of my TSS kits as well to work on. I've gotten back into my scrapping groove and I don't want to lose it again!

Yes, some more roladex cards!

I was able to get 4 more roladex cards done today (sorry the color is off in the picture)! I basically have to finish up the rest of our birthdays. But I have also decided to do some extended family cards, but I won't make a card for each person. I'll just make one for each month and than list who has a birthday/anniversary that month and what day, etc... (I was thinking of doing a card that is similiar to the Easter Card shown in my previous post!) If I had to do one for everybody that would be alot of cards and I don't think my little roladex would fit them all in! I also want to do a St. Patrick's Day card. It will probably be similiar to the Valentine card, but the colors would be different and I want to put a shamrock in to replace the heart. So I need to go get the papers I need for that and also some green seed beads to go around the shamrock. To do the rest of the birthdays I need to print out some more "Happy Birthday" tags. I used up all my tags and titles that had already been printed out for me in the kit...so now I have to do it myself! :) I left the "back to school" tag blank on my card, since I need to figure out when the kids will be going back to school first. But I figured I might as well get the card made and I can always add the date in later! And the turkey on the Thanksgiving card lifts up with a reminder underneath to defrost your turkey, always important!! So anyways my roladex is starting to come along and is getting closer to being done!

More Roladex Cards!

WooHoo! I was able to work some more on my altered roladex card file today (the color is a bit off in the picture). I finished 7 more cards (event and holidays). I basically just have to do Thanksgiving and Christmas and then all of the birthdays! I'm also thinking of doing a few others as well. In the online class she also did a back to school card, but I have to figure out when the kids are starting school next year before I do that one! It's really fun watching it all come together right before my eyes, I think I will start making these as gifts (after I finish mine though!!) I can't decide which one is my favorite just yet, though as of now I'm leaning towards the Valentine or Halloween one! Doing the beads on the heart was easier than I thought it was going to be thanks to Leah's tip in the class. She said to use a sharpened pencil to pick the beads up and put them into place and that worked like a charm, I will have to remember that one for future reference! I'm hoping to be all done with my roladex sometime this week. Especially since I will have to start packing up my stuff soon, so I need to work on a couple other projects before that happens and the time is running out! I feel like there is this little clock ticking in my head telling me to hurry up! I'm sure going to miss all my goodies when they are packed up, but hopefully it won't be too long before I'll be able to unpack them all again and do some serious playing!! :)

Here's my Roladex so far!!

Okay, decided to go ahead and show off what I have done! I just need to work on the holiday/event cards. This is so much fun, especially since every year all I need to do is pop out the little calendar and add the new one so this one will last me pretty much forever and I wont have to keep making a new one each year. And then I can always add extra holiday/event cards as needed!

I'm scrappin' up a storm!

I just finished up the last of my tab cards for my roladex! I'm lovin' how it is all looking! Now I just have to start working on all the holiday/event cards. Will probably get to that later (maybe this weekend if I'm lucky!) But right now I am going to head for bed, can't believe I worked on those tab cards for about 1 1/2 hours...didnt' seem that long when I was doing it! Then next thing I know it's 11:00 at night and I realize I'm exhausted!! So it's off to bed for me! :)

Three Days in a Row!!

I've actually done atleast a little bit of scrapping for the past three days now! Can you believe it!? I don't think I've done that for a long time! I did my LO for the February contest at TSS (it is shown below in my time to show of some LO's post "Beautiful Boy") I left that one to the last minute but I did get it done in time. Then yesterday I finally did my scraplift for February also for TSS (okay...it was a day late, but atleast I did it!), have to say I'm not crazy about how it turned out...I love the LO that I scraplifted off of though, mine is titled "You Are Loved"! I also got a LO done for a friend of mine who lives back in TN. Each month I try to run a photo contest in my old mommy group there that I started and then the winner will recieve their winning picture scrapbooked by me! The one that I finally got around to doing yesterday was from our contest back from November!! Yikes!! Talk about slacking there...in my defense though things have been pretty crazy over here and I hadn't been doing much of any scrapping up until recently! Her LO is titled "My Boys" and I hope she really enjoys it once I make it over to the post office to get it mailed to her! Last night I also got around to working on my roladex (I'm taking an online class at Scrap-a-Faire from Leah Fung) and I am really loving it! I got the cover card done last night and this afternoon I finished up 4 of the calendar tab cards (there are 12 total, one for each month). Once I get all 12 done then I will work on my holiday and event cards! I am so excited about this and I can't wait until I get it all done, I might even start making them for gifts. Once I'm all finished with it I will post some pictures!

First Day of March!

Can you believe it is March already?! This year already seems to have flown! I have sooo many projects in mind to do, but not enough hours in the day to get them done! Most of the time if I find an hour or so a week to do some scrapping, then I'm doing pretty good! Keeping up with 4 kids and being preggo with #5 really wears me out. My big scrapping time is either when my youngest is taking a nap (my oldest will still be at school, and then I can usually settle the girls down with a computer game or a movie!) or in the evenings after everyone is in bed. However by the time all the kids are in bed I'm ready for bed myself, so I haven't been scrapping too often. I want to try to set aside some time (hopefully every day or so, but I'll even settle for once a week!) to do something scrappy! This month will probably be my last opportunity for a while to get these projects that I have in mind done, before I have to pack up all my stuff since we will be moving in April. And then I have no idea when I'll be able to unpack all my goodies and scrap again. So I'm going to try and be a scrapping fool this month! This picture of my daughter is definitely on my to do list! I just love how bright her eyes are in this picture. I even have the title already picked out: "She may look like an ANGEL...but she is really a DEVIL in disguise!" And believe me, if you knew my daughter you would know just how true that statement is! So lets just keep your fingers crossed that I'll be doing alot of scrapping this month!
