It's been a while!

Whew! What a month it has been over here! I haven't been doing much scrapping lately...having a new baby kind of takes up any extra time you have (LOL! Not that I had a ton anyways!) I'm hoping once everyone gets back on some sort of schedule that I'll be able to do some scrapping again. I know I have a ton of pics to choose from! I did do a couple LO's earlier this month before the baby arrived and I just now got around to getting pictures of them and uploading them here! They are for the 3 Bugs in a Rug June/July contest. Oh and I also got my prize from 3Bugs in a Rug today for winning the May sketch contest! I'm loving all the new goodies they sent me and can't wait to break into them and create! I also finally gave the lady the altered purse and mini album (well actually my mom delivered it for me). I need to go in sometime and negotiate my fee with her...but according to my mom she absolutely loved it and almost started crying. So it looks like I can pretty much get anything I want...could really use a massage about now! LOL! She also showed it around to people in the salon, so who knows....maybe I'll be getting some orders! Though right now I don't know when I would do it! So anyways, it has been a very crazy month...I wonder what next month will entail! :)

Toot Toot!!!

I just recieved my 3 Bugs in a Rug Newsletter for June/July and saw that the layout I did of Jaxon on the slide won their sketch contest!! How cool is that!! Can't wait to get my goodies in the mail! The one thing I love about scrap challenges is that not only do you get a chance to win something it also inspires you to create a LO that you really love...so it's pretty much a win win situation! http://www.threebugsinarug.shoppingcartsplus.com/f/junenewsletter.pdf

Altered Purse and Mini Albums Pics

Here are the rest of the pictures from the altered purse and 2 mini albums I did. The first mini album says Family and the second one says Ties. I painted the chipboard first and than sanded it down a bit, then just added the PP, pics, embellies and quotes and than inked the edges.

I finished!!!

I finally finished up the project I was working on for my very first commission! I think it turned out really well and I'm pretty pleased with it...the pictures don't do it much justice, I think it looks much better in person...but than what doesn't! So after 10 hours of work and about $65 worth is supplies, it is done! Now it's time to barter for what she owes me for doing it, since we decided to just trade services (she does alot of spa treatments, such as massages, pedi's, mani's, facials, etc....). I altered a chipboard purse and then made two chipboard mini books that insert perfectly into the purse. All the patterned paper(PP) is from Basic Grey's "Scarlett Letter" line (which I think fits Bobbie (the lady I did it for) to a tee! Than I used paint, ribbon, sequins, prima flowers, brads, crystals, glitter, ink, and vellum quotes, etc.... to embellish it. Most of the supplies I used (except for the PP) came from walmart, target and JoAnn's. I think she will be really happy with it! If not then I will just take out her pictures and put my own in and keep it for myself! LOL! In fact I might just have to make another one for myself anyways! Here are some pictures of the altered purse, I will post pics of the mini albums a bit later...got to get my little guy down for a nap and he sleeps where the computer is at!

Some more creations

I've been keeping busy trying to get some stuff done before this little guy decides to come. I have just 8 weeks or left and than I'm going to have my hands really full for a while...until we get on some sort of schedule again. Then hopefully I'll be able to scrap again! I'm also keeping busy on getting my scrapbook commision done before he arrives too...about a quarter of a way done with it! I got the idea for the flower pots from Jenn (NewMommyScrapper) over at TSS, she made one about a year ago for mother's day and I finally got around to doing a couple myself. Gave one to my mom and the other to my mother-in-law, and I altered a frame to go along with the one I did for my MIL since I had done the photo cube for my mom. The clipboards I altered for my kids teachers...already gave my daughter's speach teacher hers and she loved it, going to give my the other to my son's teacher this week! Then all the LO's I did for the challenges over on the 3 Bugs In A Rug site!

Getting some stuff done...

Well I finally got the pictures in that I ordered to do my mother's day gift for my mom, so I got to finish that up. I just whipped up a very simple photo cube for her. I don't have alot of embellishments on hand here (since a majority of my things are back in NJ still) so I just had to use what I had...and I love the pictures that I used for this so I didn't want to detract from them anyways. I think it turned out pretty cute and I know my mom is very happy with it, so that's all that really matters! The girls and I also finished up the mother's day present for my mother-in-law. I found this really cute tin bucket at Target in the dollar spot and just added some ribbon to it and a tag. We also found this "grow kit" in the dollar spot for lavendar. So we planted the lavendar in the bucket. Hopefully something will grow...never know when you have your 5 and 3 year old plant it! But it nothing ends up growing than that's okay too, she can always replant or use the tin for something else.

Also got the pictures in that I'm going to use for my "commision". Now I'm just waiting on the supplies that I ordered. I'm hoping that I will get them by next week because I am just dying to start working on it. I have something really cute in mind and I can't wait to see how it turns out! Might have to order some more of those so I can make one for myself!

And I ordered a ton of pictures off of snapfish, so that I will have some photos on hand that I can scrap whenever I get in the mood! That way I won't have to keep waiting on something before I can do anything. So I'm hoping to get a lot of scrapping done this month and next...especially before this little guy decides to make his appearance sometime in July!
Oh and while the layouts that I did for the sketch contest over at 3 Bugs in a Rug didn't win...I did get an honorable mention! So that was pretty cool! Think I'm going to give the sketch for this month a shot too, once I finally get all the pictures I ordered! So I have plenty of scrapping to do...know only if I can find the time!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all you mom's are having a great day! I actually did a little bit of scrapping. Couldn't do too much since I'm waiting on my pictures that I ordered from scrapbookpictures.com, some of my scrapping buddies over at TSS tipped me off to them and I absolutely love the job they do with my pictures! So I spent today just covering the photo cube that I'm making for my mom for Mother's Day...so she'll get it a little late, but she's fine with that!

I also got my very first commision! I have scrapped for other people before (usually when I've made them a gift or what not...) but a couple weeks ago my mom brought me a pack of pictures that a mutual friend of ours gave her. She told my mom that she wanted me to scrap something for her and I could use whatever pictures that I wanted and do whatever I wanted with them! And then we would work out some sort of payment (she has her own business where she does, acrylic nails, manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, etc...) So I will have lots of fun little "spa" treatments to choose from when I give her my finished product! And being 6 1/2 months pregnant, that massage and what not is sounding really good! LOL! So I decided to do a little mini album for her with the pictures that she gave me. I found this cute little chipboard purse that I'm going to alter, since she is really into purses, and it also comes with a mini album that fits inside! So I'm pretty excited about doing this, it should be alot of fun. Just have to wait for all the supplies that I ordered to get here so I can get started on it! I scanned the pics in that she gave me and uploaded them to Scrapbook Pictures and did some fun stuff with the pics and I should hopefully get those and the purse/mini album, patterned paper (I ordered the Scarlett Letter line from BG for this) and all the embellies to go with it sometime this week! I'll have to make sure I take pictures of the finish product so I can remember how it turned out before I give it to her!
